About this puja
This puja marks Lord Krishna's birth and is traditionally timed to Nishita Kaal, around midnight, when the Ashtami tithi is believed to align with Rohini nakshatra. The pandit performs the sankalpam, an abhishekam of the Bala Krishna idol with milk and butter, decoration with tulasi, and the naivedyam offering.
