An elaborate Devi ritual reciting the Durga Saptashati into sacred fire.
Homam. Offerings made into a consecrated fire, with mantras for each one. A consecrated fire is lit for this ceremony.
About this puja
Chandi Homam is one of the most elaborate Devi rituals: a full recitation of the Durga Saptashati (Devi Mahatmyam, 700 verses across 13 chapters), traditionally repeated multiple times, followed by a homam performed alongside the final recitation. Because of its length and scale it is usually handled by more than one pandit, closing with uttarangam and purnahuti.
